Boosting the local economy

Growing up in a small town it seems like everything and anything you needed, was purchased at Wal*Mart. These days I do most of my shopping online and at box stores, but try on occassion to hit up the farmers markets and locally owned stores. I saw this website on another blog and thought it was interesting. What three stores would you pick?
